The following procedure installs the documentation in the directory /usr/local

Use the su command to become the root user. Then cd to the directory containing the compressed documentation tarball and type:

tar -x -z -f SCIRunDocs.1.24.2.tar.gz -C /usr/local
      

This will create /usr/local/SCIRunDocs.1.24.2 (the SCIRun documentation directory). Type exit to leave the root account.

Open /usr/local/SCIRunDocs.1.24.2/doc/index.html with a web browser to view SCIRun's online documentation.
